The Peel-Off Issue...
The peeling typically occurs when the bag's outer layer of leather starts to separate or flake off. This can result from various factors: Age and Wear:Over time, the constant exposure to environmental elements, such as sunlight and moisture, can weaken the leather's surface and cause it to peel.
Here are some tips to prevent a leather or a non-leather bag from peeling:
- Condition regularly: Apply a gentle conditioner to keep the material supple and prevent it from drying out. This will also help create a barrier against stains and dirt.
-
Store in a cool, dry place: Keep your bag in a breathable fabric bag in a cool, dry place to avoid moisture buildup. DO NOT store any bag in a plastic bag. Do not keep your bag inside any wardrobe for a longer duration, the humidity inside the wardrobe due to the outer climatic changes is responsible for maximum peeling of the product.
-
Avoid water: Water can damage leather or even synthetic also to some extent, so try to avoid getting your bag wet. If it does get wet, dry it off immediately and let it air dry naturally.
-
Clean gently: Use cleaners specifically designed for leather and avoid harsh chemicals. For non-leather items use soft tissues to clean the surface gently with a mild soap and let it dry naturally.
-
Use a dust bag: A dust bag can help protect your bag from dirt, dust, and other debris that can cause the outer material to become distorted.
- Avoid oils, lotions, and other liquids: Oily hands or other liquids can damage your bag.
